THEATER PERFORMANCE – ACTORS WANTED! (Ages 5 - 12)

Students rehearse a theatrical show for 3 weeks (one hour per week) and perform it for the parents on the 4th week. They develop skills in public speaking, singing, acting and dancing. Costumes, props and special effects are all provided! Students become more confident performing in front of a group. The show is chosen from one of the following: King Arthur, Princess and the Pea, Cinderella, Peter Pan, Twelve Dancing Leprechauns, The Ugly Duckling, Snow White and Seven Dwarfs. Upon completion of the course, students will receive a "Performing Arts" certificate.

MYSTERIES & TREASURE HUNTS
 
Those who love treasure hunting, solving mysteries and cracking a case are in for a great time! This class involves studying tangible evidence, finding unusual and rare treasures, studying clues and learning how to work together as a team to solve the mystery! Mysteries are clever, action packed, creative, tricky and lots of fun. This course is age appropriate for ages 4 - 11.

Active, energetic children love this class! They develop agility, balance and coordination – the ABC’s of physical fitness! We use music and creative games with exciting, colorful objects to give them a great workout. Upon completion of this course, students receive an "Excellence in Physical Fitness" certificate.

CHILDREN SINGING & FINGER PLAY CLASS
Ages 2 - 6
Children will LOVE learning several upbeat, easy, traditional songs and folk songs while parents relive the fun of their own childhood memories. Music has a calming effect on kids and helps them to focus. Children who have opportunities to sing early in their life benefit greatly for years to come!
RACE AGAINST THE CLOCK! (Ages 5 – 12)
For those who love to COMPETE and GO FAST, this class is for YOU! For an added incentive, games and activities are timed with a stopwatch. To make each game more interesting, we use bright, colorful props and obstacles of all shapes and sizes. Students get a great workout while developing speed, discipline, accuracy, agility, balance and coordination. All games, races and activities are age appropriate.
SPORTS SKILLS (Ages 2 - 6)
Young, energetic, athletic children LOVE this class! Students develop agility, balance and coordination – the ABC’s of physical fitness – critical for succeeding in ANY sport! Children are developing their motor skills while playing lots of fun games involving colorful props and age appropriate sports equipment.. Instructor: Sheryl McGlochlin

SOCCER SKILLS
Active, energetic, athletic children who love soccer belong in this class! Children develop agility, balance and coordination – the ABC’s of physical fitness! Students have a blast while learning basic soccer skills in a very fun, age appropriate way! This class will help in developing their motor skills in any sport they decide to play in the future. $20 per 4 one hour classes
TRACK & FIELD SKILLS (Ages 2 – 5) & (5 – 11)

Active, energetic, athletic children who love track and field type of sports will love this class! They develop agility, balance and coordination – the ABC’s of physical fitness! Students have a blast while learning basic track and field skills in a very fun, age appropriate way! COUNTRY LINE DANCING (Youth and Adult Classes)
Students will learn a wide variety of country line dances including some of the most popular and energetic dances like Boot Scootin' Boogie, Watermellon Crawl and many more!!   Even if you know these already, come and dance with us!  It's a great workout!  You don't need a partner.  We'll also make sure you know a few other popular line dances like the Chicken Dance, German Clapping Dance, etc.  I also teach country line dance classes for company or private parties!  
DRAWING, BASIC (Ages 8 – 15)

    Learn to draw the basic forms that visual artists use, then turn them into GREAT drawings of your own! Students will learn the basics of "one point perspective" and "two point perspective". Learn how to build your own simple portfolio. Plan on framing one of your pictures when you are done!  Supplies are provided.

JEWELRY MAKING, HEMP BRACELETS & NECKLACES


Learn how to knot a variety of designs to make simple hemp bracelets and necklaces. Supplies are provided including all natural fiber and an assortment of beads to choose from. The look is organic, casual, and very hot!

ORIGAMI (Japanese Paper Folding)

Learn the art of Origami, Japanese paper folding. Students learn to fold a variety of items i.e. animals, jewelry, clothing, birds, etc. Learn how to super-size them! Makes a wonderful customized gift. All supplies are provided.
PAPER AIRPLANES – Folding and Competing

Airplane Enthusiasts, this class is for YOU! Here’s your chance to fold a plane and then enter it into a competition! Students will learn to fold a variety of planes and helicopters i.e. Nakamura Lock, Spy Plane, Swashbuckler, Headhunter, The Hammer, Pteroplane, The Professional, Flying Ninja, Space Cruiser and The Hurricane. Once an airplane is folded, the competition begins! Each plane will be judged on time and distance. Prizes and certificates are awarded at the end of the course

THEATRICAL SCIENCE, Interactive Science with a Flare
 
Mix the talents of a musical theater professional with a talents of a math and science guru and you’ll get a unique and very entertaining type of science class! If you can say "super-cali-fragil-istic-expe-ali-docious" then you can say "DeoxyriboNucleic Acid"! Music, science, theater, art and history combined together make for a highly entertaining and educational experience! Throw in some props, costumes, goo, gunk, special effects and other exciting visual aids and it’s a big hit! All activities are "hand’s on" and interactive.
SPEAKING In PUBLIC (Ages 5-17)
Speaking in front of people is a lot of fun if you’ve learned how to develop your public speaking skills! Many people would rather go to the dentist than speak in public. But not anymore! Learn to feel confident when you are in front of a group – no matter how many people are in the room. Learn breathing and vocal techniques to do before you speak, learn how to speak clearly, how to avoid rambling, learn to speak without a script, articulate your thoughts, project your voice and deliver excellent eye contact. This class will have life-long applications. Upon completion of this course, students receive a "Public Speaking" certificate.
PHOTOGRAPHY FOR KIDS - (Ages 3-12)
Dressing up and taking pictures is what this class is all about! Using exciting costumes and props, students will be IN the pictures as well as TAKING all the pictures! Digital cameras, costumes and props are all provided. Don't have a passion for photography? Children will by the time this class is over! Learn high tech photography skills and how to use digital equipment. Children can view their photos on our website! Parents will learn a lot themselves just by coming. No pictures will be viewed online without the parents consent.
WAYS FOR KIDS TO EARN MONEY - (Adult Class)
Children are NEVER too young to be an entrepreneur! Let us help you teach your children how to be successful. This class is for parents who can then go home and work with their children. If they are old enough invite them to come to class with you. Learn how to be more creative and resourceful by using simple promoting skills that anyone can learn. Keep them busy all summer in positive meaningful projects. Learn how to be their mentor! These techniques will help adults and youth a like! EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS

There’s no reason to fear the future if you are prepared. Learn how to do simple tasks each day to prepare for an emergency long before it happens. Discover 7 basic foods that will help you survive a long-term emergency. We’ll help you get your 72 hour kit, sanitary kit and other critical supplies together. Besides food and warm clothing find out other critical items needed for an emergency. Learn how to survive in a long-term disruptive situation. Class includes 1) Emergency Preparedness ebook full of ways to prepare in ALL aspects of your life (physically, emotionally, financially, mentally, spiritually, etc.) AND invitations to year round Emergency Preparedness classes to help keep you motivated.

DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHY AND THE INTERNET
 

Several tools are available on the internet to enhance your digital photography experience, many of which are free and very easy to use! Learn what they are, where they are and how to use them. Photo websites and free image editing software will change your life! We help you individually, whether you are just starting out or have extensive computer experience. Basic computer skills are helpful. Continued help is available long after the course is over at no additional charge.
Cost: $35

HIKING - Fall Day Hikes
We'll take you to 15 of the most beautiful summer & fall hikes around the wasatch front! Although we love hiking year round, fall has some of the most incredible colors and beauty anywhere! Meet other outdoors enthusiasts while getting a great workout without spending much money. We'll show you what to bring, what to wear for the most comfort, how to stay safe and any other questions you may have.  A short orientation will be held before our first hike which will be appropriate for any hiking ability. Bring a water bottle and comfortable walking shoes. Hikes are generally held on Saturdays mornings between 8:30 – 11:30 a.m. All hiking invitations are sent via email or contact us by phone. Caution advised for those with a health condition.  Pre-registration is required if you don't want to miss the first hike.
Cost:  $35  for 15 hikes of YOUR choice.
HIKING - Spring
Whether you are a beginner, intermediate or advanced hiker, you will love hiking with our group! It’s a very inexpensive and productive way to meet lots of people who love the outdoors. We’ve been hiking year round for 3 years. Hiking invites for each week are sent via email OR contact us weekly by phone. A 30-minute orientation will help answer any questions you have. Sign up early to receive the orientation packet in advance. Hikes are every Saturday generally between 9 am – 12 noon. Come for part or the entire hike. In addition, some hikes happen during the week. Receive a hiking punch card - good for 15 hikes of YOUR choice. Caution advised for those with a health condition. Cost: $35 for 15 hikes

HIKE & SNOW SHOE

WINTER HIKING IS A BLAST! Beginner or advanced, you will enjoy 1 – 4 hours of hiking and/or snowshoeing with us! These are two great inexpensive outdoor winter sports! Make plenty of new friends while getting a great workout! We have been hiking EVERY week throughout the year for the past three years and love every minute of it. Within minutes of the Salt Lake valley are several trails that are safe for winter hiking. You’ll be amazed at how many hikes do NOT require snowshoes however, there will be plenty of snowshoe outings. Winter hikers are required to wear "Yak Trax" over their shoes ($20 at REI) and will need trekking poles OR ski poles. Snowshoe rental is less than $10/day. All information for every outing is sent out weekly via email OR contact us by phone. A 30-minute orientation will answer all your questions and concerns, including carpool info and how to dress for winter hiking. Sign up now to receive the orientation information in advance via email. Outings are held every Saturday between 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. We also do Urban hiking in the winter and offer weekday hikes during the day and evening! Occasionally we cross country ski so watch for lots of exciting invites. Equipment is not included in the fee. Students receive a punchcard good for 15 hikes of their choice. OUTDOOR WINTER SPORTS - Cross Country Skiing, Snow-Shoeing & Hiking

Enjoy a variety of outdoor winter sports, meet new people and get a great workout, all with very little money. An important orientation is required before the class starts. Meet everyone in the class, find out what to bring, ski rental prices, carpool info, safety tips, questions, concerns, etc. Classes held on Saturdays from noon – 4 p.m., Skiing will be held at a variety of locations nearby. (Mountain Dell, for example, is just 10 minutes from the mouth of Parleys Canyon) Ski Equipment is not included. Approx. rental for skis per day: $8 - $12 Instructor: Sheryl McGlochlin

DOWNHILL SKI GROUP (Sports and Recreation) (Ages 18 & up)
Whether you’re new to Utah’s ski slopes or not, join us IF you love to ski and want to meet new people. Make new friends with a variety of skiing abilities while getting a great workout on the slopes! This group brings skiers together. The day is NOT spent in ski instruction. For those who want lessons, excellent ski schools or lessons may be recommended. Ski at your own pace with others with your same ability. Ski as often as you like. You are responsible for purchasing your own ski passes. Several outings will take place Monday through Thursday, however, skiers may choose to ski any day of the week at any ski resort of their choice! Benefits include: networking with skiers, tips for improving your technique, safety tips, carpools, info on ski repair/tune-ups, group meals together, money-saving tips on ski clothes, ski resorts, lodges, ski passes and ski equipment, sales or rental. All ski invitations and info are sent via email. As a bonus you'll receive "Outdoor Winter Sports in Utah", an ebook written by Sheryl McGlochlin. Caution advised for those with a health condition.
THEME PARTIES FOR ADULTS

Why hire a party planner when you can do it yourself for a LOT less money! We do all the work for you! Receive over 20 Theme Parties complete with suggestions on food, drink, transportation, activities, entertainment, games, invitations, prizes, decorations, music, etc. and where to get everything, including phone numbers and websites. Designed for adults but could be modified for any age group. Themes include Pirate, Tropical Paradise, Western, Outer Space, Disco, Medieval, Safari, Roaring ‘20’s, Fitness, Science, Gangster and a lot more! All themes can be adapted to any budget or group size. We keep in touch with you via email long after the class has ended to share more information with you.

SWING DANCING

Love to dance? Enjoy big band swing music? Get ready to impress your friends Learn the basic steps for several swing styles along with learning a few basic ballroom dances, like cha cha, fox trot and waltz. In a few weeks you’ll be ready to hit the dance floor and look like a pro This is a couple’s only class. Plenty of singles are looking for partners so let us know if you are looking for a partner. After this class has ended we’ll continue to invite you to upcoming dances and classes via email.

LINE DANCING
Don’t worry about a partner! You don’t need one. Learn a variety of line dances including Hip-Hop Line Dances, Country Line Dances, Chicken Dance, German Clapping/Slapping Dances, Swing Line Dances, and more!
SOCIAL DANCING!
     If you love a variety of music and love to dance, this class is for you. Bring a partner and get ready for a great workout dancing to a variety of music. Whether you are just beginning or have been dancing for many years, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to polish your dancing skills. Meet other people who also love to dance.
      Learn at your own pace. Learn waltz, cha-cha, polka, swing, fox trot and several others including some great line dances i.e. Boot Scootin’ Boogie, Alley Cat, Jitterbug Swing, etc. Learn other dance information i.e. best dance CD’s and places to go dancing, etc. A partner is required for this class.
LATIN DANCING AEROBICS CLSASS
Students who love Latin music and love to dance will enjoy this class! No partner OR experience in dancing is necessary. Besides helping to shrink your waistline and develop a leaner, healthier body you will learn latin rhythms and coordination skills.  Discover how fun and easy it is to do cha cha, salsa, merengue and rumba steps.  Caution is advised to consult your physician before starting an exercise program.

THEATRICAL STORYTELLING, A Creative Twist!
Experience a new way of entertaining through Theatrical Storytelling. Watch how easy it is for a story to come alive when people in the audience become the characters in the story. It’s improvisational theater at its best! Storytellers learn how to perform and promote a "one man show" by using costumes, props and interacting with their audience. Learn how to make it a great part time job or enhance your teaching and communication skills. Sheryl has performed and promoted over 3000 shows during the past 10 years throughout Utah.
